Hennessy V.S.O.P: Fantastical Encounters

 Fantastical Encounters is a traveling inflatable installation commissioned by Hennessy V.S.O.P for its 2023 China roadshow. Debuting in Guangzhou and touring through Shanghai, Chengdu, and Aranya, the project transformed each stop into a surreal celebration of flavor, emotion, and unexpected joy.

Suspended on the red facade and floating inside the pop-up pavilion, Kalman Pool’s vibrant inflatable creatures served as whimsical ambassadors of emotion. Inspired by fermentation and transformation, each character expressed a different mood—joy, adventure, mystery—mirroring the layered experience of Hennessy V.S.O.P.

A set of plush creatures was also produced and worn by staff, extending the installation into tactile, wearable expressions. Designed to adapt to diverse outdoor conditions—from summer storms in Guangzhou to coastal sunlight in Aranya—the project embraced unpredictability as part of its aesthetic.
