This early solo presentation took place in a high-traffic cultural retail complex in central Shanghai. Curated by The Magnetic Project, New Tales Retold explored a fictionalized mythology through digital painting and inflatable sculptural experiments. The works drew from Kalman Pool’s ongoing invention of speculative language and bio-inflatable forms, building a whimsical universe of new creatures and encrypted symbols. The compact exhibition revealed the artist’s instinctive vocabulary emerging from his formative years in London and China.
